Ron made his racing debut sometime around King Arthur's time. He is usually known as "that old bloke asleep over there", and as this suggests he is usually found snoozing near his caravan if he isn't actually racing.
His favourite tune is the Archers theme tune - mainly because that's what wakes him up at 7pm each evening, ready for his tea. His favourite food is anything cooked by Vera (but he has to say that or he won't get fed).
His hobbies are relaxing after the racing (see photos) and walking miles and miles in all weather with Charlie and Oggie, who don't mind at all, of course. Ron's special talent, apart from being able to sleep in the middle of a noisy flyball tournament, is to wiggle his ears and he also makes an excellent apple pie. (Mind you, that's the only thing he can make)
Ron's favourite saying is "Oggie, Oggie, Oggie" closely followed by his often heard comment "It must be the lights" and when asked about his dream job he said "Job !!!! I'm retired!!"
Having reached the ripe old age of 70 in 2010, he must be one of the fittest OAPs in the country as he still runs two dogs - with lots of enthusiasm and noise, is a key member of the team and spends much of his spare time (when not "resting his eyes") organising forthcoming competitions.
